U.S. considers pressure on Russia due to the situation with Ukraine to be appropriate

US Treasury Chief Yellen considered the pressure on Russia over the situation with Ukraine appropriate.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said she considered it “appropriate” to exert financial pressure on the Russian government in connection with the Moscow-attributed military buildup on the border with Ukraine.

During the hearings in the US Senate, Congressman William Hagerty addressed Yellen, expressing the hope that she would “send a powerful message” to the Russian government about the possibility of exerting “powerful financial pressure” on Moscow in connection with the current tension on the Russian-Ukrainian border.

“I agree. It will be appropriate”, Yellen responded.
