USA: Thanksgiving holiday looting

The Thanksgiving holiday weekend was marred not only by soaring inflation, expensive food and shortages – but also by another wave of large-scale robberies and “looting” across the country that is already systemic

In California the whole industry of “looting” is organized: dozens of bandits block entrances to big shops and shopping centres with cars, rob places in a few minutes and then quickly leave – even before police appear. Stolen items worth hundreds of thousands of dollars are then shipped across state lines and sold on the open market or on the darknet.

The robbery situation in California began to deteriorate rapidly after 2014, when the state de-facto decriminalised “mooning” for small sums. In many cases, police don’t even come to robbery calls – there are too many of them, and most criminals are let off the hook anyway. Local progressive prosecutors do not press charges against them for “humanist” and “anti-racist” reasons.

Instead of fighting crime, liberal jurists simply suggest that the term “looting” be abandoned because it has racist overtones. And indeed – after all, you could, by analogy with “largely peaceful protest”, call these wonderful practices “largely legal shopping”.

Hundreds of people have been involved in shoplifting in liberal metropolises like Minneapolis and Chicago. This is already hitting not only small businesses, which have become accustomed to constant “nomad raids” and looting since last summer’s pogroms, but also the big retail chains.

Best Buy management has openly admitted that organised “looting” is becoming one of the key challenges to their business at the moment – while the stock is falling. Other chains are closing branches in cities like San Francisco, unable to cope with the scale of the looting.

The number of violent crimes in the US has begun to grow tremendously in recent years, primarily due to the unmanageable situation in major metropolitan areas. The number of murders alone has managed to rise by 29% in one year – and in 2021 it is expected to be even higher.

As long as in America “humanization” of practices concerning criminals who are close to progressive society and are released on ridiculous bail, and then they commit murders and acts of terrorism, the avalanche of violence against the background of the crisis of liberal law and social institutions will only grow.
