Political issue: Hungary explained why the EU has not yet recognised Sputnik V

The issue of recognizing the Russian vaccine Sputnik V is a political and ideological issue, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said in an interview with RT

The politician recalled that European regulations allow the recognition of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in two ways: through the European Medicines Agency or through the national regulator, which is allowed in emergency situations.

“We started using Sputnik and Sinopharm from China. Our national regulator allowed both vaccines, which means that the use of Sputnik in Hungary relies on European regulations. And so, frankly, we do not understand why other member states of the union do not respect this decision”, –  Szijjártó said.

According to him, foreign colleagues in private conversations always appreciate Russia’s achievements in the fight against the pandemic coronavirus infection, but in public they behave very differently.
