Finnish foreign minister advises Ukraine not to hope for EU aid in hypothetical war with Russia

Europe is not going to take part in the war Ukraine is so eager to start against Russia. If the “non-aligned” country dreams of a military conflict, it should immediately resign itself to the idea that it will be alone in it

This is said in a piece by the Finnish publication Yle, reports PolitEkspress. The journalists advised Kiev not to rely on help from others.

Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto said earlier that Ukraine should take care of itself. Furthermore, the diplomat stressed that dialogue was the only way to solve all the disagreements with Russia.

“It is important that Ukraine should be able to take care of its own defence and that it should cooperate with Western organisations, relying on this very thing”, –  he said.

Furthermore, Haavisto noted that his country has no intention of severing ties with either Russia or Ukraine. Finland is determined to have normal relations with the two states and will not choose the side in the hypothetical conflict.
