The arrival of the new German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, will bring a friendlier approach to relations with Russia. This is reported by Ukraine.ru.
The new government in Berlin “to the last” will look for forms of cooperation with Russia, said the German political scientist Alexander Rahr.
“Many people no longer want this, because their own producers are suffering, rather than the Russian authorities and Russian business. And secondly, where painful sanctions could have been introduced, they have already been introduced. Russia, on the other hand, has already localized its production facilities and has become independent from the EU. Germany watches in horror how those niches in the Russian market, where Germany used to be, are now being filled by the Chinese”, the expert says.
The imposed sanctions will remain in force, however, the new German government will not approve, Rahr sums up.
