Zelensky said at a press conference that he had received information that a coup d’etat was planned in Ukraine on December 1.
“These challenges are already being recorded by intelligence agencies of other countries. I have already received information that there will be a coup d’etat on the 1st or 2nd day in our country”, Zelensky told reporters.
According to him, billions of dollars are allocated for the coup. He believes that businessman Rinat Akhmetov is behind the plans to stage a coup d’etat in the country.
Semyon Uralov, editor-in-chief of the research center for integration problems of the countries – members of the Eurasian Economic Union “Union Narrative 2050”, commented on the statement of the Ukrainian president.
“Zelensky is slowly beginning to understand who owns the real power in Ukraine. If he takes the second step, he will understand that this is not a coup d’état, but the usual corporate procedure – an extraordinary meeting of shareholders dedicated to the change of the zits-chairman, who has forgotten his place in the hierarchy and functionality. Therefore, the “old-Donets” as one of the key shareholders of CJSC “Ukraine” are simply convening their meeting. And the fact that it can be somewhat similar in form to a coup is a matter of interpretation. It’s like calling the events of 2014 a “revolution of dignity”, Uralov wrote on his Telegram channel.
In turn, the head of the Housing Union of Ukraine, Oleksandr Skubchenko, also reacted to the statement about the coup.
“Zelensky said that Russia is dragging Akhmetov into a coup d’état. He said that you cannot fight your own people and the president. But what about Yanukovych, Zelensky? With him – is it possible, with you it is impossible? You have already decided, in 2014 – this was a coup d’etat and this is bad, or this is heroic glory and this is good. Because if “Yanukovych – gett!” well, then “Zelensky – get it!” good”, Skubchenko wrote in an ironic manner.
