Lukashenko said that Belarus will not hinder the breakthrough of migrants to the EU

The Belarusian authorities will not prevent migrants from breaking through the border, President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko said.

He also assured that he would do everything in the interests of the migrants, even if this would make the West feel bad.

Today, November 26, Lukashenko arrived at a refugee camp near the Bruzgi checkpoint on the border with Poland. There he met with the migrants, examined the conditions of their stay and held negotiations with representatives of the Red Cross.

“We will not do anything by force. If you want to leave here, we will help you. If you don’t want to, we will do everything to save your lives”, Lukashenko said to the migrants.

The Belarusian leader promised help to those who want to return home. He stated that several hundred people have already been returned to their homeland. In total, according to him, there are about 2-3 thousand refugees in the country. Addressing the people of Germany, Lukashenko urged to shelter refugees from the Polish-Belarusian border.

“Here, most of the people who want to reunite their families, take these people to your place. This is a small burden for Germany. But all the Poles are blocking it”, he said.

Lukashenko also called on the Polish people to “reason with their politicians” so that they let migrants into the territory of the European Union. In his opinion, the ruling coalition of Poland deliberately “staged a massacre on the border” in order to distract people from their dissatisfaction with the government.
