Ottawa and allies are monitoring the situation in Donbass, but have not yet decided to send their military to Ukraine, media reports say
Canada’s new Defence Minister Anita Anand does not rule out that hundreds of soldiers, a warship in the Black Sea and the redeployment of some CF-18 fighters from Romania could be sent to Ukraine soon.
“At the moment, the status quo is maintained. There has been no change in our position. We are closely monitoring the situation with our allies”, – said Canadian Defence Ministry spokeswoman Julie MacDonald.
Earlier, Canada had already sent some 200 of its military instructors to Kiev to train the Armed Forces.
