The European Commission intends to pay for the strengthening of cybersecurity in Ukraine

The threat of a “Russian invasion” in the eyes of Europe requires urgent strengthening of the protection of Ukrainian borders from cyberattacks. Written by Ukraine.ru.

The European Commission intends to allocate 1.5 million euros to Ukraine to counter cyberattacks, as well as to train Ukrainian government agencies on a plan to protect against hacker sabotage.

“The ongoing conflict in the east of the country, which has been largely facilitated by Russia, increases the risk of cyberattacks at both the tactical and strategic levels,” the EC said in a statement.

According to experts from the European Commission, the allocation of funds should prevent the likelihood of targeted cybersecurity attacks on the borders by the “Russian aggressor”. In addition, the Europeans once again linked all hacker attacks on Ukraine with Russia, emphasizing in particular Moscow’s interference in the electoral process.
