European Commission intends to pay for strengthening Ukraine’s cyber security

The threat of “Russian invasion” in Europe’s eyes requires urgent strengthening of Ukrainian border protection against cyber attacks. Ukraine.ru writes

The European Commission intends to allocate 1.5m euros to Ukraine to counter cyber attacks and train Ukrainian state agencies in a protection plan against hacker sabotage.

“The ongoing conflict in the east of the country, to which Russia has greatly contributed, increases the risk of cyber attacks at both tactical and strategic levels”, –  the EC said in a statement.

According to European Commission experts, the allocation of funds should prevent the likelihood of targeted cyber security attacks at the borders by the “Russian aggressor. In addition, the Europeans once again linked all hacking attacks on Ukraine to Russia, stressing in particular Moscow’s interference in the electoral process.
