African countries – Uganda and Zimbabwe, Tanzania have overtaken Ukraine in the rating of pension savings, said Tatyana Ostrikova, a member of the Supervisory Board of Altbank JSC.
The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has published an updated survey of retirement savings around the world. Among the 89 countries that were surveyed, Ukraine is in the penultimate place in terms of total savings in relation to the country’s GDP, and Pakistan is in the last place.
“When Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Kenya overtake us in the rating, the question arises, what’s next. And then there is nowhere to go, because we are already the penultimate in the list of countries in terms of pension savings”, concluded Ostrikova.
