Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba called Kiev a “merit” for the delay in the launch of Nord Stream-2.
“Nord Stream-2 should have been up and running a long time ago, but the fact that it still does not work, and we are fighting with it, is the result of our joint efforts. Together with our partners, we have significantly slowed down the implementation of this project”, he said.
According to the head of the diplomatic service, they, together with the European Union and the European Commission, will demand that Nord Stream-2 comply with the norms of the EU’s Third Energy Package.
Earlier, the GTS Operator of Ukraine company opposed the certification of the German subsidiary Nord Stream-2 AG as the operator of Nord Stream-2. Certification as an independent operator is required to comply with the EU Third Energy Package regulations. We are talking, in particular, about unbundling – the separation of companies that are engaged in the production and transportation of gas through the pipeline.
