Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that NATO regularly accuses Russia of “non-transparency of actions” and “aggressive behavior”, accusing the Russian armed forces of maneuvers on its own territory.
“Recently, the US Embassy in Estonia announced a joint exercise between the Estonian Defense Forces and the US Army Special Operations Forces. The American diplomatic mission reported that “unconventional delivery methods” were being worked out during the maneuvers. I don’t even want to imagine what they are about”, Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel.
In the opinion of the Foreign Ministry spokesman, in the Pentagon’s war games, Estonia is nothing more than a NATO foothold at the Russian borders – these measures do not and cannot carry any other goals.
“The very fact that the exercises took place a few days after the conclusion of the next military agreement between Tallinn and Washington on the mutual provision of troops with fuel only confirms NATO’s intention to artificially create tension near Russia,” she concluded.
Zakharova also asked the question – to what extent does NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg consider such actions transparent, predictable and non-aggressive? If, from his point of view, everything is fine, then what complaints can there be about the internal Russian maneuvers, which constantly cause him anxiety?
