The actions of London, which sent its military to help Polish border guards, suggests that Britain is again trying to join the confrontation with Russia, said Polish political scientist Mateusz Piskorski.
According to him, the reasons for the rapprochement between Warsaw and London were the deterioration of relations between Poland and the United States and Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union. The political scientist noted that now the Poles see the British as almost their only ally.
“London is seizing the opportunity, seizing the opportunity that the United States is focused in one way or another on the issue of China. Therefore, I think that London is trying to resume the “big game” against Russia, as it was in the 19th century. But the British presence in Poland is symbolic. I don’t think it will be permanent”, Piskorsky said.
He also added that despite the symbolism of the presence of the British contingent in Poland, it is a serious signal for Moscow.
