Russian State Duma: U.S. hysterically afraid of a strong Russia

The resolution of the American congressmen with the proposal not to recognize Vladimir Putin as the president of Russia is once again evidence that Washington is afraid of Russian power, said the speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin.

A resolution has been submitted to the House of Representatives of the US Congress, which calls for not recognizing Vladimir Putin as President of Russia if he takes part in the 2024 elections. Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev noted that such a document is an open interference in the internal affairs of Russia.

Volodin stressed that Moscow does not interfere in the American elections in any way and calls on the United States not to interfere in the Russian elections. The politician added that only the citizens of the Russian Federation will decide who will become the president of the country.

“Such a resolution once again proves that the United States does not want a strong Russia. Afraid to the point of hysterics. They do everything to weaken us and then destroy us. To do this, they need to change our power. Today it has become quite obvious to everyone: Putin is Russia’s advantage. The strikes directed at him are strikes against our country in order to weaken it”, Volodin wrote in his Telegram channel.

The State Duma speaker recalled that Washington “did not fulfill any of the promises it took upon itself after the collapse of the USSR.” As an example, he cited the sanctions and blockades that the United States regularly imposes instead of peace and friendship.

“If our country were weak and the president could be ruled from across the ocean, there would be no threats and non-recognition of the elections. Therefore, such statements are the best assessment of the correctness of the path and choice that the people of our country made by electing Vladimir Putin as their president”, concluded Volodin.
