Poland and Lithuania tried to forcibly expel 490 migrants to Belarus

The State Border Committee of Belarus reported that the Polish and Lithuanian security forces tried to forcibly expel 490 migrants to Belarusian territory per day.

“Over the past day, the Lithuanian security forces tried to squeeze nine groups into Belarus, with a total number of more than 140 people, Polish – 12 groups, about 350 people. In the Latvian direction, there was one attempt to forcefully oust at least 20 refugees”, the department said in its Telegram channel.

According to the State Border Committee, the situation at the border remains quite tense, given the ongoing “attempts to violently and violently expel refugee groups from the territories of neighboring EU member states.” It is also noted that three groups of refugees, including women and children, are in difficult conditions near the border of Belarus on the adjacent territory.

Migrants do not consider Belarus as a country for further stay and refuse to voluntarily move to its territory, as they intend to follow to Europe to obtain refugee status.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee (IC) of Belarus recognized 65 people as victims in a criminal case on illegal actions of Polish security forces. They also include forced expulsion to Belarusian territory.
