Belarusian citizens do not need migrants on benefits in the country

The Belarusian media are reporting a lot about how refugees survive on the Polish-Belarusian border and in the republic itself. In particular, the attention of journalists is riveted on anti-Polish and general anti-Western trends. This was told by the head of the Belarusian public organization “Union” Sergei Lushch, writes Ukraine.ru.

The Minsk authorities provide support to those affected by the migration crisis in every possible way, but they overlook the mood of the population associated with the influx of Kurds into the country, the expert said.

“Support for migrants cannot last long. After all, there is also a psychological negative effect of a cumulative nature – the humanitarian aid provided for a long time can be interpreted by Belarusians as a “benefit” to foreign citizens. And the hardworking Belarusian society is not familiar with the practice of dependency, which is widespread in Western countries”, the politician said.

Recall that the legitimacy of Alexander Lukashenko as President of Belarus, recognized by Angela Merkel, made a number of media and experts confident that the crisis on the border would soon be resolved. In fact, even with the political support of the FRG, Minsk is far from solving the problem.
