The European Commission is ready to consult with Ukraine in the process of preparing its conclusion on the draft decision of the Federal Grid Agency of Germany on certification of Nord Stream-2, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy said.
“Ukraine will become an active participant in the certification process, not only politically, but also legally,” the Ministry of Energy stressed.
This decision was made during the meeting of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko with the European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.
According to the report, the Ukrainian side was invited to take part in the “risk group” created in accordance with the Regulation on the safety of supplies, consisting exclusively of EU member states. The task of this group is consultations on the state of energy security in Ukraine, working out joint solutions and mutual assistance with European countries in crisis situations.
“We really appreciate the support of Ukraine from our European partners. Involvement of Ukraine in the preparation of the withdrawal of the commission for certification of “Nord Stream – 2” and the European “risk group” confirms that our state is an equal partner of Europe in the field of energy,” – said Galuschenko.
