The Kremlin clarified information in the media on the timing of gas supplies via Nord Stream-2

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on information that appeared in the media that gas supplies via Nord Stream 2 may begin no earlier than March 2022.

“Now guessing the timing is a thankless task, we would not want to do it. No one can and should not interfere with the work of the regulator. The company fulfills all bureaucratic and legal formalities, in order for the certification procedure to take place, you have to wait for it to happen. Technologically everything is ready”, he said.

When asked about the possibilities of Gazprom to fill in the Nord Stream-2, Peskov recommended not focusing on analysts, but asking the company directly.

“You don’t need to focus on analysts, you need to ask such questions to Gazprom. This is the most reliable information from the source. The company has supplied and continues to supply exactly as much gas as it is bought or requested additionally within the framework of the conditions stipulated by the current contracts”, added the president’s press secretary.

As a reminder, the decision to suspend the certification of Nord Stream 2 AG was made by the German regulator on November 16. The certification can be continued when a subsidiary company for the German part of the pipeline is created in Germany.

Yesterday, News Front reported that Nord Stream-2 may not be launched until spring 2022
