The head of the Donetsk people’s republic Denis Pushylin has called on the international community to recognize the actions of the Ukrainian authorities on the territory of Donbass as war crimes
“The war will not stop until the international community, the leaders of the world and significant countries, recognize what Ukraine is committing now as war crimes and condemn it. The world community must realise what is happening on the territory of Donbas for the eighth year now. And there is aggression on the part of Ukraine. It must be recognized, it must be publicly condemned, all kinds of steps must be taken”, – the republic’s head said.
Now, according to Pushylin, the reaction of Western countries and guarantor countries is exactly the opposite.
“The entire world community by their indulgence and by their silence or lack of condemnation are helping and pushing Ukraine, probably, and are unleashing their hands on Ukraine in terms of committing war crimes. Until the situation changes, until there is condemnation, the war, alas, will continue”, – he said.
Pushylin said that since the beginning of the armed conflict 126 children have died in the DPR and LPR: 91 children in the DPR and 35 in the LPR. A total of 268 children have suffered as a result of the conflict, 27 of them were disabled and 58 children were orphaned.
The Office of Public Prosecutor of the DPR initiated more than 2 thousand criminal cases for war crimes committed by Ukraine, while the residents of the republic filed about 6 thousand applications to the European Court of Human Rights and about 3 thousand applications to the International Criminal Court.
