Representative of the Lugansk People’s Republic in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) Rodion Miroshnyk said that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decree on humanitarian aid to Donbass does not contradict the Minsk agreements
We shall remind you that Putin had earlier signed the decree “On providing humanitarian support to the population of certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine”. According to the document, Moscow intends to prevent the decline in living standards under the economic blockade imposed by Ukraine on the Luhansk and Donetsk people’s republics.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba extremely resented the decree and said that the document allegedly contradicts the Minsk agreements, and called on France and Germany to “condemn the Kremlin’s actions”.
“First, these are the very Minsk agreements that Ukraine is dissatisfied with and seeks to trample on and destroy with every action and statement it makes. From non-compliance with the ceasefire to the refusal to enshrine ‘special status’ in the Constitution of Ukraine,” Miroshnyk said in his Telegram channel.
The politician also added that this decree in no way contradicts the Minsk agreements, which provide for “assistance from the central authorities (of Ukraine) to cross-border cooperation […] with the regions of the Russian Federation.”
“So Kiev should not only not be outraged by this decree, but should facilitate its implementation. As it is exactly in line with the Minsk agreements, the commitment to which Zelensky declared two years ago in Paris in the presence of the leaders of France, Russia and Germany”, – Miroshnyk summarised.
Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that the Russian leader’s decree on humanitarian aid to Donbas “fixes new borders of Moscow’s hybrid aggression”.
