No side effects have been identified when using the nasal vaccine against coronavirus infection, Alexander Gintsburg, director of the Gamaleya National Research Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology, told RIA Novosti
“We have not noticed any side effects of the nasal vaccine to date”, – Gintsburg said.
In October it became known that the Russian Ministry of Health has approved clinical trials of the nasal vaccine SPRAY 08-GAM-COVID-VAC-2021, which was developed by specialists of the Gamaleya Research Center for EMS. According to Gintsburg, the application of this preparation instead of vaccination will be considered after the completion of clinical trials.
Earlier, the head of the Gamaleya Scientific and Practical Centre for EMCDDA stated that the combined use of Sputnik V and a nasal vaccine would be able to provide hundred per cent protection against the coronavirus. Gintsburg said 300 neutralizing antibody units could effectively protect against the delta strain.
