Experts suggest the launch of NSP2 at the end of the heating season

The suspension of certification of NSP2 is due to procedural rather than political circumstances. This opinion was expressed by Dmitry Marinchenko, senior director of the Natural Resources and Commodities Group at Fitch. TASS writes

The expert notes that the unconditional length of procedures may delay the launch of the pipeline until the end of the heating season.

“Germany has consistently supported the project, and one should probably not look for conspiracy here. But overall, the certification is proceeding rather slowly – the project is likely to be launched at best by the end of the heating season”, –  Marinchenko says.

Recall that Germany considers it necessary to establish the Nord Stream 2 operator in a form that complies with German law. For this reason the certification of the pipeline has been temporarily suspended.
