British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has told the Lord Mayor’s Banquet in London that Britain does not support Ukraine’s integrity because it wants to be hostile to Russia
“We have to deal with it, we have to deal with it, we have to have as friendly and pragmatic a relationship as possible. But the consequence of that is that we are working more and more closely with those who share our values and motivations. So when we say we support Ukraine’s sovereignty and integrity, it’s not because we want to be hostile to Russia, or that we want to strategically encircle or undermine this great country in some way. It is because we have a commitment to democracy and freedom that is now shared across the vast European continent,” Johnson said.
The British prime minister also urged not to forget that “it was Russian blood that enabled Nazism to be defeated”.
