Poland intends to build a wall on the border with Belarus

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of Poland Maciej Wonsik said that Warsaw intends to build a wall on the state border with Belarus in the first half of the coming year. He said this on the air of the Polish radio.

The politician notes that the decision has not yet been documented, however, negotiations are already underway.

“It would be irresponsible to come up with a specific deadline before the contracts are signed,” says Wonsik.

Warsaw is ready to build a total of 180 kilometers of 5 meters high fences and equip it with the necessary technology, in particular cameras and motion sensors.

In Poland, they feared new attempts to break through by migrants, however, at the moment, the Deputy Minister states that there are no such attempts.

“Nothing special happened,” the politician concludes.

We remind that now there are four thousand border guards, two thousand policemen and 15 thousand soldiers of the Polish army at the border.
