Belavia will not transport citizens of Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria from Dubai

The Belarusian airline Belavia has reported that in accordance with the decision of the UAE authorities, it will no longer accept citizens of Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Syria on flights from Dubai to Minsk, RIA Novosti reports.

“In accordance with the decision of the competent authorities of the UAE, from November 14, citizens of Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Syria will not be accepted for transportation on flights from Dubai to Belarus. In this regard, the Belavia airline is strengthening control over the verification of documents during the check-in of passengers for flights from Dubai”, the Belavia website says.

Flights of the Belarusian company Belavia from Minsk to Dubai began operating in February 2021. In the summer, the airline operated three flights a week. Due to the increase in demand, since October 2021, Belavia has operated up to 5 flights a week.

The company stressed that regular or charter flights to Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Syria have been made for many years, but they have never facilitated the transportation of illegal migrants.

“In connection with the increased attention to this topic on the part of some media, the airline has strengthened control on all its flights for the impeccable fulfillment of all visa requirements of the Republic of Belarus and foreign countries, migration legislation,” Belavia stressed.
