Estonia plans to place 130 km of barbed wire on border with Russia

Estonian Defense Minister Kalle Laanet said that in order to prepare for a “possible hybrid attack”, the Estonian military may stretch 130 kilometres of barbed wire along the border with Russia

In Laanet’s opinion, Belarus continues to aggravate the migration crisis on the border with Poland and Lithuania, therefore measures should be taken to protect the borders.

As a reminder, the migration crisis on the border between Belarus and the EU countries started in summer 2021 after Lukashenka stated that he would loosen control over the flow of illegal migrants amid another strain in relations with the Western countries. The situation on the border with Belarus has recently deteriorated.
