The Bundestag is not going to support sanctions against Belarus

The Bundestag assessed negatively the proposal to impose new sanctions against Belarus because of the migration crisis. According to the representative of the Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs, Piotr Bystron, the authorities in Minsk are not to blame for the tension at the Polish-Belarusian border.

“Sanctions against Belarus are absurd. Lukashenko only supports the Global Compact on Migration”, –  says the committee representative.

Bystron also stressed that the non-governmental organizations Sea-Watch and United for Rescue, which help to resolve tensions at the border, are funded by the European Union at taxpayers’ expense. The migrants themselves are in fact refugees who want to settle specifically on European, in particular German, soil.

Earlier, Alexander Lukashenko warned Europe against new sanctions against the Republic. He reminded that in response to the fifth sanctions package, he can cut off the gas flowing through the Yamal-Europe pipeline.
