Ukraine is not eager to contact NATO

Politician Dmitry Vasilets is convinced that the majority of Ukrainians do not want the country to join the North Atlantic Alliance. He wrote about this in an article for Vesti.ua.

“Regular bravura statements about “ Ukraine’s desire to join NATO” have never been backed up by an All-Ukrainian referendum,” says the leader of the Derzhava party.

Vasilets believes that NATO representatives do not see the point in holding a vote, as do the Ukrainians themselves.

“Real sociological research suggests that the result of such a referendum will be negative,” he stressed.

According to the politician, the Russophobic structure of the North Atlantic Alliance will only harm the outside world through widespread aggression in the interests of the United States.

“I am deeply convinced that the existence of the NATO bloc is a constant threat to humanity,” Vasilets writes.

Vasilets concluded that the entry of Ukraine into any blocs violates the main basis of statehood, spelled out in the Declaration of Independence of the country.
