Military expert, retired colonel Viktor Litovkin, at the request of Rambler, commented on the recent flight of an American reconnaissance aircraft near the Russian border over the Black Sea and named the goals of the corresponding actions of the Americans.
“This is not the first appearance of American reconnaissance aircraft over the Black Sea, at our air borders. They do it regularly – not only reconnaissance planes fly, but also strategic bombers. Thus, they serve several purposes. First, they show us who is the boss in the sky, they demonstrate that Americans do what they want, that America is above all else, the hegemon, so everyone should bow their heads to her. But Russia is not doing this. Russia is a sovereign self-sufficient state defending its national interests. The pressure in the form of reconnaissance aircraft, strategic bombers, in the form of ships with Tomahawk cruise missiles on board in the Black Sea is an example of how the United States is trying to restore its reputation as a hegemon, which has been sharply shaken after the shameful flight of the Americans and NATO from Afghanistan” , said Viktor Litovkin.
The expert called the second purpose of the appearance of American aircraft near the Russian borders to conduct reconnaissance in order to find out what is happening in the Crimea, on the southern coast of the Caucasus, what complexes are located there, and so on.
The third goal is to demonstrate to Ukraine that they are on its side. In this way, they stir up the nationalist sentiments of the Ukrainian regime, untie the hands of the military in Donbass. They are also trying to present Russia as a party to the Minsk agreements, although they do not say a word about Russia. Nevertheless, they are trying to present Russia as an aggressor.
