US military spokesman John Kirby said the Pentagon continues to observe “worrisome movements” of Russian troops “near Ukraine” and called on Moscow to “clarify intentions”
“We continue to see troubling movements of Russian troops in western Russian Federation and near Ukraine”, – Kirby said in a briefing.
The US military spokesman said Washington was urging Moscow to “clarify its intentions”.
We shall remind you that the Ukrainian Defence Ministry earlier said that it had not recorded any facts of the Russian Federation’s troop build-up near its own borders. The secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine also stressed that there was no activity of Russian troops near the Ukrainian borders.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also denied reports by some Western media that Russia was allegedly pulling troops to the border with Ukraine.
