Ukrainian armed forces shoot down their own drone, intending to interfere with OSCE observers

Kiev punishers have stopped simply jamming the signals of OSCE drones and decided to shoot them down. So far, however, only their own vehicles have suffered

Thus, Ukrainian security forces shot down their own drone, confusing it with an OSCE UAV. Ivan Filiponenko, an official representative of the LPR People’s Militia, told this at a briefing, the Luhansk Information Centre reported.

“An unmanned aerial vehicle was launched near the settlement of Bolotennoye by a brigade artillery group of the 79th Brigade (AFU) to scout the positions of the People’s Militia and prepare to launch artillery strikes. As a result of inconsistency, small arms fire was opened at the drone from the position of the 1st Battalion of the 79th Brigade, as a result of which it was shot down”, – he said.

International observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) were working close to the scene of the incident. The militants apparently mistook the drone for theirs, but made a fatal mistake.

Earlier, the Ukrainian armed forces had even opened fire on the observers. They used grenade launchers and a shell exploded just 30 metres from the OSCE vehicle.
