The new Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexei Reznikov on the air of the talk show “Freedom of Speech by Savik Shuster” announced the need to search for “new formats and alliances” to resolve the conflict in Donbass.
According to the Ukrainian government official, one should not idealize the Minsk agreements, considering that they “are not a springboard for the world.” According to him, the document was inherited by Ukraine from the previous government, and the current leadership of the country should look for new formats and allies.
“Today the United States has given a signal that it is not against participating [in resolving the situation in eastern Ukraine], including as a mediator. Germany and France don’t mind either. All consultations are underway”, he said.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky withdrew Oleksiy Reznikov, appointed to the post of Minister of Defense, from the Ukrainian delegation participating in the negotiations of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on resolving the situation in Donbass.
