The department explained that, according to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the extradition of a person (extradition) is the extradition of a person to the state, the competent authorities of which are looking for this person to prosecute or execute a sentence.

“Thus, the procedure for the extradition of a person to Ukraine can be initiated by the competent authority of Ukraine only if there is a criminal proceeding on the territory of Ukraine against the person or a court verdict,” the ministry added.
