American magazine reveals the secret of the success of the Russian defense

The National Interest has called the Russian “flying radar” one of the key elements of the success of the defense sector, according to RIA Novosti.

Beriev’s Russian A-50U reconnaissance aircraft attracted the attention of experts from the American National Interest magazine with its highly effective work. Mark Episkopos, a researcher at the American Center for National Interests, called the updated version of the “flying radar” one of the key elements of the success of Russian defense and intelligence.

“The manufacturer claims that the radar dome itself is lighter due to modern Shmel-M components. It is also more effective as it can track air targets up to 650 km away and ground targets up to 300 km away”, Episkopos writes.

According to the author of the publication, the United States should pay attention to the fact that the A-50U aircraft, which has proven itself during operations in Syria, may be of interest to many states. Moreover, export versions of the Russian aircraft are already in foreign service.
