Pentagon finds no wrongdoing in Kabul strike that killed civilians

US military officials have decided that they committed no violations when the US army carried out a drone strike on Kabul in August this year

The publication Izvestia, citing a speech by US Air Force Inspector General Sami Saeed at a Pentagon briefing, reports that the investigation does not believe there was a violation of law.

It is worth noting that there are civilians among the victims of this attack by the States. However, the defence establishment has said that mistakes in the execution of the combat mission, communication failures led to such consequences. But they are not considered a violation of the law.

“I had plenty of time to study the data for weeks, the soldiers didn’t have that. They had the same data, but they had to assimilate it, process it and make a decision within hours”, –  Saeed said.

The results of the investigation were kept secret for so long because of the secrecy, he said. Meanwhile, the full report would never be seen by the public. This was justified by the fact that the methods, sources, tactics and procedures used in such drone strikes were classified.
