The trap worked: the Chinese revealed the secret of the collision of the US nuclear submarine with the “seamount”

Users of the Chinese network Sina Weibo revealed the true circumstances of the incident with the US nuclear submarine in the South China Sea in October. They launched an extensive discussion on the conclusions of the experts from the Pentagon.

“For some reason, only the Yankees are always bumping into something in our water area, risking their neck. Allied ships, meanwhile, ply without problems. It’s a strange pattern”, wrote one of the commentators.

From the official conclusion of experts it follows that the reason for the breakdown of the nuclear submarine was the seamount, which the sailors did not see on the tracking devices. The impact on the alluvial island damaged the submarine and nearly put it out of action. Certain users of the Chinese network, not without sarcasm, suggested that the US Navy fell into a clever trap of the “select” units of the engineering forces:

“Their boat was hooked by Uncle Mao. Maybe at least after that they will remove their group further away. Or do you need a tragic hint? The next time, after all, they may not emerge”.

The participants in a heated discussion demanded compensation from the US authorities for the violation of the seabed topography in order to avoid an environmental catastrophe.

“But if this is so, the United States must compensate us for the damage to the environment of the South China Sea, after they broke our mountain,” they write in one of the comments.

Recall that in early October, the USS Connecticut submarine collided with an unknown object in the waters of the South China Sea. Having received serious damage, the crew was forced to evacuate with the ship to the base in Guam. It is noted that modern surveillance systems did not help to avoid collisions. Only a month later, the Pentagon published the official conclusion of the experts.
