Italian Ambassador to Russia Giorgio Starace said that the recognition of the vaccine in the European Union is a technical and not a political issue, TASS reports.
According to the ambassador, the Italian Ministry of Health, together with Brussels, is actively working on the recognition of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in the European Union, because now it is one of the priority issues.
“For me, the issue of recognition of Sputnik V is one of the priorities. I am in contact with our Ministry of Health, which is in touch with Brussels. Everyone is working hard on this issue and I can only hope that this work will bring the desired results soon”, he said.
Recall that Russia and the European Union are negotiating on the issue of mutual recognition of vaccination certificates. But the domestic vaccine “Sputnik V” has not yet received permission from the European Medicines Agency for use in the EU.
