The Taliban* have denied reports that former Afghan security forces have sided with ISIS*.
Representatives of the movement said they had not seen any confirmation of such claims.
Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that a small number of former Afghan intelligence officers trained in the United States joined the militants of the local ISIS cell*. Allegedly, their number is relatively small, but it is growing after the withdrawal of US troops and the Taliban* came to power in Afghanistan.
“It is impossible for the security forces of the previous government to join ISIS we have not seen evidence of this, and it cannot be possible,” a Taliban spokesman* explained.
We remind you that the situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated after the withdrawal of US and NATO troops. Power in the country was seized by the Taliban* movement, which formed its own government.
