The Washington Post’s sources have reported that a number of officials in Washington and European countries have said that Moscow is allegedly moving some troops to the border with Ukraine
“The renewed build-up of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border has caused concern among some officials in the United States and Europe, who believe they are recording unusual movements of equipment and military on Russia’s western flank”, – the publication wrote.
According to The Washington Post’s source, officials in the U.S. and Europe began noticing the movements in particular in recent weeks after Russia completed a massive joint exercise with Belarus called West 2021 in mid-September.
TASS journalists asked the Pentagon to comment on the allegations, but have not yet received a response. We shall remind you that Europe has already repeatedly said that Russian forces were building up along the border with Ukraine. According to the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, the movement of the Russian army along the territory of the country “should not disturb other states as it does not threaten them in any way”.
