Poland intends to demand compensation from Berlin and Moscow for damage and losses during the Second World War. We can talk about the amount of $850 billion.
This idea has been voiced in Poland for several years already. The Polish Seimas has a special commission that calculates this amount. It is assumed that in the near future this issue will be dealt with in more detail by the Polish Institute of War Loss, which has not yet been created.
According to expert Wojciech Sadurski, a lecturer at the University of Sydney and the Warsaw Center for Europe, Kaczynski’s party is not going to fight for payments in reality, but simply imitates violent activities in order to receive budget funds for this.
It is noteworthy that the official Warsaw has never applied through diplomatic channels to Germany and Russia with a demand for compensation and has not filed claims in international courts, but at the same time it has been actively using this topic in its political interests for several years.
