The Polish edition of Onet said that plans to reform the Polish army would not bring Warsaw closer to victory over Russia, RIA Novosti reported.
The publication criticized the country’s new bill “On Defense of the Fatherland”, in which Russia is viewed as a potential enemy. The document was presented on November 26 by the head of the ruling party Jaroslaw Kaczynski and Interior Minister Mariusz Blaszak.
Among other things, the bill provides for “a mechanism for financing the Armed Forces, a mechanism for the development of the army and its weapons.”
The author of the article notes that the key elements that allowed the Russian army to build up its potential were, in particular: a significant increase in spending on weapons, regular exercises and reforms, the essence of which was to eliminate ineffective units.
But all of these aspects are not taken into account in the new document. Warsaw does not like sudden maneuvers, loses allies and does not seek to maintain troops properly. Russia has gone far ahead on these points.
“Anyone who has at least some idea of military affairs understands that Poland has no chance in the event of a clash with Russia. And whoever claims the opposite is at least disingenuous. Comparison of Polish and Russian capabilities leaves no illusions about the outcome of such a collision”, concluded the author of the article.
