Shmygal published an unusual statement on Facebook from which it follows that it was not the Soviet soldiers, but an anti-Hitler coalition that drove the Nazis out of the country
Shmygal said that the United States, Britain, China, South Africa and Latin America were involved in fighting for Kiev and other Ukrainian cities.
“77 years ago the anti-Hitler coalition jointly drove the Nazi invaders out of Ukraine. Eternal memory to those who gave their lives for Ukraine,” Shmygal wrote on social media.
Shmyhal suggested honouring the memory of the British and US soldiers “who died fighting for Ukraine”.
We would like to point out that in the objective reality, which differs from the Ukrainian prime minister’s perceptions, only Soviet troops took part in the battles for the Ukrainian SSR, namely the troops of the First Ukrainian Front, which did not get such a name by accident.
The First Ukrainian Front was commanded by General Vatutin, whose monuments in Ukraine are still regularly covered with red paint.
