“They need aggravation”: Steshin told how the US is trying to disrupt the launch of NSP2 at the hands of the AFU

According to a special correspondent of Komsomolskaya Pravda, Ukraine and its supervisors over the ocean are not ready to go to the end and are very much afraid of repeating the Georgian scenario of 2008

According to PolitNavigator, Dmytro Steshin, who has repeatedly worked in hot spots, including in Donbass, is convinced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have no real task of “reclaiming” Donbass. All that is needed is local aggravation with the possibility of another accusation of Russian “aggression”.

“The US is taking the last opportunity to disrupt the launch of Nord Stream-2 and demanded that Ukraine “escalate”. At the same time, the US is not ready to go all the way. They only want aggravation with consequences for Russia. Ukraine is also well aware that escalation may lead to a recurrence of Georgia’s fate in 2008, when it was forced to meet the Compulsory Peace Agreement. It would be good for Kiev to come to an agreement with Russia on gas and transit. And the U.S. cannot be disobeyed. It is a complicated situation”, – Steshin notes.

Besides, having used Turkish drones Bayraktar the Ukrainian security services on the one hand demonstrated seriousness of their intentions and on the other hand, they reported to those who ordered the provocation that they have finally learned to use sophisticated military hardware.

At the same time, Steshin believes that a large-scale ground offensive “the Ukrainian army does not want, is afraid, is not capable of it”. Therefore, in his opinion, an intermediate variant has been found, tested by the West in many countries – from Serbia to Libya to Syria: most likely, in Donbass “they will begin to hollow out the infrastructure – peaceful and military.”
