According to German sociologist Reinhard Krumm, the need of the German economy in pipeline gas from Russia is difficult to overestimate
As Narodnye Novosti informs, during an interview with Izvestia, the expert from Germany said that despite the political games surrounding the newly built pipeline, the German authorities will have to convince the opponents of the launch of NSP2 in Ukraine and Poland, and give the green light to start the new gas pipeline.
The entire European economy needs a Russian pipeline. Although there is a great deal of “politics” surrounding the project, there is a chance that the new German authorities will not diverge from the current policy towards Moscow, Krumm pointed out.
“The ties between Russia and Germany are dependent on Europe’s overall policy, but it is likely to end in a positive way”, – Vladimir Chizhov, Russia’s permanent representative to the EU, said.
