Saakashvili’s who is starving in prison needs medical help for the second time

For the second time, the former President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, who is in prison, needed the help of doctors, RIA Novosti reports, citing a statement by the politician’s lawyer Dmitry Sadzaglishvili.

“Last night, one of Saakashvili’s vital signs dropped to a critical level, and the need for the intervention of resuscitators arose, after which the indicators stabilized. This confirms what the council noted in the recommendation and conclusion that the third president is now entering at any moment, a sharp deterioration in his health is expected, and, therefore, immediate medical assistance will be on the agenda”, the human rights activist told reporters.

On October 1, Mikhail Saakashvili announced his return to Georgia after seven years of emigration. He was soon arrested by the police. At home, the former head of state was involved in four criminal cases, and after his arrest he became involved in another – about illegal border crossing. Currently, Saakashvili is in a Rustavi prison. He refuses to eat in protest. The politician considers his detention illegal, and calls the charges falsified. His hunger strike has been going on for the 25th day.
