This decision was made because of the words of Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer. She declared the need to demonstrate to Russia its readiness to use weapons, including nuclear ones.
“During the meeting, attention was drawn to the statements of German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer on nuclear deterrence of Russia and a note was handed over. It was noted that such statements provoke an increase in tension in Europe and do not contribute to the normalization of the situation”, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Earlier, Kramp-Karrenbauer announced the need to contain Russia in the Black Sea and Baltic regions. On October 23, the words of Kramp-Karrenbauer were commented on by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
“Against the background of calls for military containment of Russia, NATO is consistently pulling forces to our borders. How this has already ended for Germany and Europe, the Minister of Defense of the FRG must know well. Security in Europe can only be general, without infringing on Russia’s interests. But it is NATO that is not ready for an equal dialogue on this issue today”.
The head of the ministry also noted that the implementation of NATO’s “containment” plan in Afghanistan ended in a catastrophe, which is now being dealt with by the whole world.
