One of the leaders of the ruling German party has called for the launch of NSP2

The co-chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, which won the last parliamentary elections, Norbert Walter-Borjans has expressed support for the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline

He advocated that it should be launched to its full capacity as soon as possible, the Strana.ua website reported. However, he is not supported by his partners in the likely coalition, the Green Party.

“In my view, independence is ensured not by severing ties with others, but by having as many ties with as many partners as possible. Unfortunately, you can rarely choose your suppliers based on their sympathies for the political system, the same is true for oil”, –  he commented on the position of his colleagues.

Walter-Borjans believes that NSP2 would help Germany move towards “climate neutrality”. It will not prevent the country from developing renewable energy sources and will not leave it without heating and electricity.
