Technical formalities remain – Peskov on situation with Sputnik V registration in Europe

The State Duma expects Sputnik V to get the registration in Europe that it should have had long ago, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters

“We expect that it (the work on registration of the Russian vaccine in Europe – ed.) will be completed, and that our vaccine will receive the registration that, in fact, it should have received, in our view, a long time ago”, –  the politician said.

According to RIA Novosti, the Kremlin also assessed the situation with the registration of Sputnik V in Europe and Peskov said that technical formalities remained.

The spokesman also said that there was still a lack of some information from the European agency.

“Our Ministry of Health, other agencies and RDIF are working on it, so now it is only about technical formalities, and they will be resolved.”

Moscow considers it impossible and unnecessary to connect its resource to the Sputnik V vaccine certification process in Europe.

“No, connecting any of our resources for this is not possible, nor is it necessary. Indeed, there are certain technological differences concerning the completeness of the documents and information submitted in order for our vaccine… to be registered by the relevant European agency. Work is being done in this respect”, –  Peskov said.
