Germany asks Russia to unblock OSCE mission in Donbass

Following the incident with the treacherous seizure by the Ukrainian DRG of one of the JCCC members from the LNRM, and the absence of an adequate response to this blatant fact by the European representatives to the OSCE mission, the residents of Donetsk and Gorlovka staged an indefinite picket and blocked the exit from the hotel where the Europeans are staying

According to Russkaya Vesna, German government spokesman Steffen Seibert asked Russia to influence the actions of the authorities of the People’s Republics and to unblock the OSCE mission to the DPR and LPR.

“There has been a blockade of the work of this mission, its work has been obstructed in Horlivka, in Donetsk, and the blockade in Donetsk by pro-Russian protesters, according to our information, continues. This development is alarming for the FRG government,” he said during the briefing, “In this regard, we call on Russia to use its influence with the separatists to lift this blockade as soon as possible so that OSCE observers can continue their work.

VGTRK reporter Andrey Rudenko, who has been present in Donbass since 2014 and has covered the hottest events of the conflict, commented on the German demand.

“So why isn’t Berlin calling on Kiev to stop killing residents of Donbass, but calling on Moscow to influence the lifting of the blockade in relation to the OSCE? – asks Rudenko, noting that “once Ukraine stops shooting,” the OSCE presence in Donbass will not be needed.
